On Monday August 31, 2015 at approximately 2:45 pm, a Deputy with the Starke County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol in North Judson. While on Patrol, the Deputy recognized a subject known to him as an active Sex Offender. The subject was identified as Bradley Austin (25) of Hamlet. The Deputy confirmed with the Sex and Violent Offender Registry Coordinator that Austin was registered at an address in Hamlet. The Sex and Violent Offender Registry Coordinator had received information that Austin had moved to an address in North Judson. Austin did not report this move to the Sheriff’s Office, which is required by state law.
The Deputy was able to make contact with Austin and confirmed that he had been residing in North Judson and had failed to register the change of address.
Austin was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Starke County Justice Center for Failure to Register as a Sex/Violent Offender with a Prior Conviction and has no bond at this time.
