Starke County Sheriff DeptOn Tuesday, May 26th Starke County Chief Detective, Rob Olejniczak and K9, Terror conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had no windshield on 500N/700E in Hamlet.  The driver was 34 year old Shannon Watts and the passenger in her vehicle was 42 year old Timothy Rudd both of North Judson.

K9 Terror was used at the scene and indicated marijuana on Rudd.

Timothy Rudd had been preliminary charge with possession of marijuana and he has posted bond and bailed out of the Starke County Jail.

Shannon Watts was released from the scene with a citation for driving while suspended.

On Thursday Starke County officers executed a search warrant in to 2400S block of 100 W in North Judson.  The warrant was for Deborah Trusty.  Officers arrested Mrs. Trusty and also located methamphetamine in plain view.  The officers also located a syringe in a vehicle outside the residence.

Deborah Trusty, 34 from Knox is being held on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of paraphernalia, and a hold for Vanderburgh County.    She was held on no bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
