A suspicion of drug activity in the parking area of the First United Methodist Church ended with the arrest of a Plymouth man.
Sunday evening about 7:20 Plymouth Police Officer Jeremy Enyart was dispatched to the parking lot for two makes in a red Pontiac Sunfire that may be conducting a drug deal. After checking the area the officer located the suspect vehicle sitting on West Garro Street near the intersection with Michigan Street. The officer observed the two males in the vehicle and another one leaning into the passenger side window.
During the investigation is was learned that one of the occupants, 32 year old Paul A. Williams of Adams Street in Plymouth had an active warrant for conversion through Marshall County. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held with no bond.
A little bit later Sunday night about 8:15 Officer Matthew Emenhiser observed 59 year old Howard Konkle of Quad Street in Bourbon stumbling south on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of Michigan Street.
Konkle provided a breath sample and was arrested for Public Intoxication and held in the County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
