Members of the Marshall County Council decided to wait to re-organize the board until the new member has been elected at the caucus on October 20th.
A caucus has been called to replace County Council president Matt Hassel who resigned to accept the position of Marshall County Sheriff.
County Republican Chairman Dave Holmes confirmed that only Heath Thornton his indicated his desire to fill the vacant seat. Candidates living in District 1 have until noon this Friday, October 16th to contact Holmes or the Marshall County Clerk.
The caucus will be held at 6 p.m. in Republic headquarters in Plymouth. There are 7 precincts in the district but only 5 have precinct committee chairs that will be eligible to vote.
