Sheriff_MeritBoard_DocBottorffAfter serving 44 years on the Marshall County Sheriff’s Merit Board, Bud Treat and Doctor John Bottorff were recognized for their years of service during last night’s meeting.

Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin asked the two to reminisce about their experiences noting that they have been through 7 or 8 sheriffs during their terms.

A couple of the issues the two faced included the idea of a car for each deputy and then petitioning the County Council to get shot guns in the patrol cars.  Doc Bottorff remembered the fight they had to get new toilets in the jail and how shocked they were when the council unanimously approved the purchase.

Sheriff Chamberlin officially announced replacement for Doc Bottorff and Bud Treat.  Gary Treat will be one of the replacements and Dave Winrotte will be the other.
