The Plymouth Optimist Club will be hosting their annual Tri-Star Basketball Contest Sunday, February 22nd in the gym at Lincoln Junior High in Plymouth. Originally scheduled for February 1st, the winter storm postponed the vent.
Tri-Star use to be call the dribble, pass and shoot contest and is an Optimist International sponsored event. The competition will be scored by age groups, and one in each of the age and gender groups will have the chance to move on to the next level of competition. The finals will be held at the Fieldhouse in New Castle on March 8th.
All boys and girls, ages 8 to 13 as of March 15th of this year are invited and encouraged to take part in the event.
Each child participating in the contest will need an adult parent or sponsor to sign a permission slip. Registration will begin on the 22nd at 12:30 p.m. with the competition starting at 1 p.m. and each child is also to wear gym shoes.
The Plymouth Optimist Club encourages children to attend. There will be fun for all.
