underage-drinkingOfficers from the Argos Police Department made a couple of arrests Saturday for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage and refusal to identify self.

Early Saturday morning Officer Jeff Markley observed a female walking near North and Church Street.  It was determined that 18 year old Khristina Grove with a Plymouth address had been drinking.   She also refused to identify herself to the officer.  Grove was booked into the Marshall County jail at 7:35 Saturday morning and held on a $505 cash bond.  She was released at 4:50 Monday morning with no judicial review. 

Later Saturday morning Argos Officer Rodney Rudd observed a male subject walking and approached him.  The officer immediately noticed the odor of alcohol.  19 year old Luis Fernando Valdez-alfaro also of Plymouth was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol.  He too refused to identify himself to the officer and was charged for that offense.    Valdez was booked into the County Jail on a $255 cash bond which was paid Saturday afternoon just before 3 and he was released with an October 6th date in Marshall Superior Court II. 

 

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
