PHS2015_Senior Awards_ISTAThe Indiana State Teachers’ Association and the 1F District Council offer the ISTA Foundation for the Improvement of Education (IFIE) scholarship every year to provide financial support to children, stepchildren, grandchildren and step-grandchildren of ISTA and ISTA-Retired members.

This year the 1F District Council selected 12 scholarship recipients from the 10 school districts within the governance district.  Plymouth High School has two of the twelve students who received the IFIE Scholarship.

The recipients of the 2015 IFIE Scholarship from Plymouth High School were Emily Gadziola and Abby Patrick.

Lori McClellan, a PHS Science teacher who also holds the role as PEO Co-President said to staff after the awards program, “It was an honor to have been able to present this award to these well-deserving young ladies.”  McClellan also thanked all the teachers who had played an integral part in the lives of the 2015 seniors.

The Plymouth Education Association scholarship were in the amount of $1,200.  The scholarship money was raised during the annual PEA Chicken Sale.

Teacher Laura Kruyer presented Megan Rust and Mariah Norwick during Friday’s awards event.  Kruyer said, “These young ladies have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding personal achievement and will represent our profession well.”
