The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces the closure of the north and southbound passing lane of U.S. 31, between the U.S. 20/31 Bypass and Kern Road in South Bend, today through Wednesday, Aug 19, weather permitting. Crews will be installing a temporary frame structure, which is part of the Johnson Road bridge construction which runs over U.S. 31.
During the project, traffic will be reduced to one on both the north and southbound side of U.S. 31. Drivers should be prepared to slow down at this location and be alert to shifting traffic patterns.
