UnitedWay_SensationalSevenUnited Way of Marshall County celebrated another successful campaign, announced the allocations from the 2014 campaign and kicked off the 2015 campaign Thursday night a Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth.

Francis Ellert, President of the United Way Board of Directors opened the meeting and said, “It takes the whole community together, volunteers, donors and United Way agencies to reach our common goals. Their passion, expertise and resources are needed to get things done.  We are here tonight to celebrate the successes of our 2014 campaign.”

Cindy Rash, one of the 2014 Sensational Seven Campaign Chairs reflected on the campaign that had a goal of $550,000.  She has been involved in United Way for nearly 20 years and said they campaign really focused on the entire county getting campaign chairs from all corners of the county.

Other members of the Sensational Seven include Donna Burroughs, Pam Mahler Lee, Ginny Munroe, Debi Sahlhoff, Jeannette Teal and Susan Wagoner.  Rash said, “This is quiet a team.  The Power Of We as we always talk about here did an amazing job.  The results came in and we have raised more than $575,000.”

Many awards were presented including  Nishikawa Cooper bring the number one giver and Morrow Insurance Agency having the highest per capita givers in the county.  Several businesses were honored as have 100% participation from staff and employees.  Those companies include American Container, Beacon Credit Union, Easterday Houin LLP, MCEDC, Mid-City Supply Co, Morrow Insurance, Laurie Sutter’s State Farm Insurance, United Way of Marshall County, U.S. Granules Corp., Washington Elementary and Webster Elementary.

Other award winners were American Container as the county’s Large Industry per capita giver, U.S. Granules as the county’s Small Industry per capita givers, Mid-City Supply as the Commercial per capita giver, Plymouth Community Schools as the top in staff giving.

In early March Cindy Rash was awarded the United Way of Marshall County Volunteer of the Year in Indianapolis during the annual state meeting.  Thursday evening she was recognized locally for her donation of time and talents to the local United Way.
