Tax-AmnestyAs of December 14, the Indiana Department of Revenue’s Tax Amnesty 2015 program has collected $137.6 million in cash payments. Taxpayers have agreed to pay an additional $21.6 million via payment plans. The department expects to add to these amounts as payments and amended forms continue to be processed.

“Nearly 65,000 taxpayers already have paid their past-due taxes in full, and more than 13,000 are participating via payments plans,” said Indiana Department of Revenue Commissioner Andrew Kossack. “We are privileged to partner with these taxpayers as they seek to clear their records of these liabilities, and we are pleased to see that the program is generating revenue that exceeded our goals.”

Tax Amnesty 2015 was authorized by the biennial budget in House Enrolled Act 1001, which was signed into law by Governor Mike Pence in May 2015. The eight-week program allowed taxpayers to pay past-due taxes free of penalty, interest and collection fees.

The Indiana Department of Revenue’s Tax Amnesty 2015 program ended Monday, Nov. 16, 2015. Processing continues for Tax Amnesty 2015 payments and forms postmarked by Nov. 16, 2015. Tax Amnesty 2015 payment plans must be satisfied by June 15, 2016.
