FreedomPark_Vandalism_1The all-inclusive playground, Freedom Park, in Packard Woods isn’t even complete yet and the vandalism has already started.

Tuesday evening someone one spray painted on the concrete sidewalks around the play structure.  A small amount of paint was also located by workers on the specialized rubber surface.

FreedomPark_vandalism_2Summer employees from the Plymouth Park Department went to work on Wednesday attempting to remove the orange spray paint.  With solvents, scrub brushes and some elbow-grease the paint was removed.

Dave Cooper, Maintenance Supervisor for the park believes the paint was leftover from the construction work and in the trash dumpsters.  He thinks kids got the paint cans out of the trash and did the damage under the cover of darkness.

FreedomPark_Vandalism_3When all three phases of this park are complete it will be a million dollar project.  Please, if you see someone damaging park property contact the park office during normal business hours or call the Plymouth Police Department.
