Mooney’s Ice Cream Parlor, American Family Insurance and Quality Optical at 309 East Jefferson Street in Plymouth will have a new sign in the next 60 days and the signs currently in violation will be gone.
Tuesday evening members of the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals heard the request of Michelle Roberts, property manager presented the drawings and details of a new combination pole sign. The new pole sign is needed a variance for the C1 commercial zoning because new signs are to be monument signs. Because the sign would be located at the southwest corner of the property Roberts asked to have the sign sit as close to the street as possible so drivers on East Jefferson Street can see it while traveling east or west.
The BZA approved a variance for the pole sign and approved locating the new sign within the same area of the white combination sign that has been on the property for years. The board also motioned that the current lighted Ice Cream Parlor sign that is in violation be removed this week and the new sign be erected within 60 days.
