Walorski-Tomb of UnknownAlong with fellow committee members, Republican Jackie Walorski (IN-02), a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, paid her respects and placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Monday at Arlington National Cemetery. Monday marked the 62nd anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement.

The “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” refers to a single grave in which the unidentifiable remains of a soldier are interred as a dedication to their services and to the common memories of all soldiers killed in any war.

“It’s a tremendous honor to pay respects to the fallen at these solemn grounds and remember the service and ultimate sacrifice paid by these brave men and women in uniform,” Walorski said. “The service members here gave their last full measure of devotion to defend our freedoms and never made it home. For the wounds they endured, both visible and invisible, we owe them and their families a tremendous debt.”
