Walorski_housefloor1-22-15WASHINGTON D.C. – Thursday, Representative Jackie Walorski (IN-02) a champion of pro-life issues, voted to support legislation that would prohibit taxpayer funding of elective abortions, no matter where in the federal system these may occur.

H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015 legislation will exclude federal funding from being used for abortions. The measure passed the House by a vote of 242-179 and now heads to the Senate for further consideration.

“We have a responsibility, as the elected body representing our constituents, to protect the most vulnerable among us and ensure that women facing unwanted pregnancies do not face judgment or condemnation, but have positive support structures and access to health care to help them through their pregnancies,” said Walorski.

Earlier Thursday, Walorski spoke on the House floor in the support the measure. Last year, Walorski supported the same legislation in the House.  Click on the image below or click here to watch the speech.
