Sunday morning about 11:30 Marshall County Police responded to a single vehicle accident on State Road 17 at the curve with Sycamore Road.
Officer Jordan Rans was the investigating officer and determined that 77 year old Christian W. Brandfass St. of Westville was traveling south on a 2002 Honda motorcycle.
Brandfass was unable negotiate the curve properly and lost control of his motorcycle crashing into the guardrail on the west side of the road. The force of the crash caused Brandfass to be ejected from the motorcycle.
Christian Brandfass was transported by Plymouth Paramedics and Fire to a farm field east of State Road 17 on 10B to be airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. On Monday afternoon he was listed in critical condition.
Officer Rans was assisted at the scene by officers for the Sheriff’s Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS and Lyon’s Wrecker Service.
