JACKSON, MI – The Ancilla men’s basketball team moved into the middle of the pack of the tough Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference with a win at Jackson College 75-69.

The Chargers (12-8, 3-4 MCCAA) were led by Juwan Johnson’s 22 points. Mike Wickliff and Tque Smith added 18 and 17 points respectively.

“I was very proud of the way we competed,” said Ancilla coach Aaron Butcher. “We were sharper on the defensive end and really had an attack mentality on the offensive end. This was a win we really needed and now get ready to host a good Lansing team here on Saturday.”

Ancilla hosts Lansing (13-8, 5-3 MCCAA) at the Charger Arena in the LifePlex at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. Ancilla defeated the Stars 83-82 in Lansing to begin the MCCAA West season, but since then Lansing has been 5-2 in conference play. It will be the second game of the women’s and men’s double header that Ancilla is touting as their “Blue Out Game” this season.
