Miller's_Chocolate Bake Off 2015Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth hosted their first annual Chocolate Bake Off during lunch time on Friday.

MIller's_Chocolate bake Off 2015_Pam Mahler LeeSix celebrity bakers or chocolate makers made and brought in their best chocolate recipes for people to taste.  After tasting the various items they voted for their favorites with quarters.  The one to collect the most money was the People’s Choice.

Miller's_Chocolate Bake Off 2015_Kathy BottorffMiller’s also had judges evaluate the different chocolate goodies and select a winner.  Judges were State Representative Tim Harman, Kelly Skirvin from Dr. Stillson’s office, Chris Garner and Ellen Stillson the founders of Blessings in a Backpack in Marshall County, and Sarah King from SJRMC.

MIller's_Chocolate Bake Off 2015_Kim LitnerThe judge’s favorites were Laurie Sutter’s from State Farm Insurance who made Salted Carmel Oreo Bites, 2nd place was Pam Mahler Lee from Anytime Herbs who made a chocolate avocado mouse and 3rd place went to Mayor Mark Senter and his Chocolate Covered Pretzel Peanut Butter Bites.

Miller's_Chocolate Bake Off 2015_Mayor SenterPeople’s Choice winners were 3rd place Mayor Senter with $40.75, WTCA’s Kathy Bottorff with $57.96 in second place and Pam Mahler Lee with $72.85.

Miller's_Chocolate Bake Off 2015_Oliver FordAfter the presentation of awards Gwen Calvert from Miller’s Merry Manor presented Garner and Stillson with proceeds from the event, $203.11 which is enough to provide Blessings in a Backpack to five children for a year.   At that point Mayor Senter volunteered to match the funds so at least 10 more children will be provided breakfasts, lunches and snacks over the weekends during the school year.
