PizzaWarChampion2015_WoodenPeel PizzaWarChampion_WoodenPeel_NIAfter more than six weeks and 100,000 votes, Northern Indiana has finally found its best Pizza! The voting finally came to an end last night at midnight. The Wooden Peel of Marshall County was voted the best pizza in Northern Indiana. The Wooden Peel in Bremen beat out The Café at the Bowling Alley in a heated battle to claim the title.

The Northern Indiana Pizza Wars kicked off in May with over 50 of the top pizza restaurants across the region. The Wooden Peel with its famous thin and crispy crust was up to the challenge of this year’s competition. Hailing from the small town of Bremen. The Café at the Bowling fought valiantly but just fell short, with only thirty-four votes separating the two restaurants.

The Wooden Peel is not the only winner from this year’s competition, though they won the popular vote. NITDC brought in food critic, Kate Silver to select her favorite pizza from the final eight. Iechyd Da of Elkhart won the critics’ choice along with The Café at the Bowling Alley receiving an honorable mention.
