Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter wants to remind citizens of the city’s fireworks ordinance since we have Independence Day coming up next week.

Fireworks purchased by general consumers for their personal use must be used on their personal property, the property of someone who has given consent to use the fireworks on or a location authorized by special permit from the State Fire Marshall.

Fireworks may be ignited or discharged within the corporate limits of the City of Plymouth from 5 p.m. and until 2 hours after sunset from June 29th until July 9th. On the 4th of July you may light fireworks from 10 a.m. until midnight.

Any person who violates the city ordinance shall e subject to a fine of $100 per violation. Each day of such unlawful activity shall be deemed a separate offense.

This ordinance was passed by Plymouth’s Common Council on December 27, 2007.
