Pinwheels on Courthouse497 blue pinwheels were planted in the ground on the south side of the Marshall County Court House on Friday for National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Members of the Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County Chapter paced the pinwheels that were donated by Prevent Child Abuse Indiana.

The pinwheels placed, represent the 479 live births in Marshall County during 2015.

President of the Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County Chapter, Haley Krittrell said, “Each child deserves a happy, safe, abuse and neglect free childhood.”

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the new national symbol for child abuse prevention through Pinwheels for Prevention. The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign provides a unique opportunity for all, individuals and organizations alike, to take action by learning more about prevention, supporting child and family friendly policies and services, and volunteering at the local level.
