The spring semester has begun and with it the advent of yet another historical Ancilla College moment — opening night at the new dining hall.
Students were able to warm up at the fireplace in the new building or enjoy a made-to-order meal in the dining area Sunday night after moving back to their rooms from winter break. In addition to a fresh-vegetable saute, also available for the premier meal was a salad bar, cheeseburgers, nuggets, pizza and more.
President Ken Zirkle said he was proud of how nice the building looked and the quality of the food at the first meal.
“It’s been a steady trickle,” he said of students coming in for dinner after getting moved in.
The brand new Student Life Center Dining Hall is open to all current students, staff and faculty.
The hall will be open 24-hours for students to meet, study and hang out. The kitchen will only be open for meals.
Hours of meals for the 2016 spring semester will be:
Monday-Friday
- Breakfast 7:30 to 8:30 AM
- Lunch 11:30 AM to 1 PM
- Dinner 5:30 to 6:30 PM
Saturdays and Sundays
- Brunch 11:30 AM to 1 PM
- Dinner 5 to 6 PM
Students with room and board plans will be able to eat during these times using their meal code. Off-campus students can buy a $50, ten meal package from the business office. Students, faculty and staff can also still purchase food, for cash from the Ministry Center cafeteria during their regular hours.
