IN State baton 2016On Saturday, May 7th seven local girls traveled to Shelbyville, Indiana to compete in the 2016 Indiana Baton Twirling Championships.  For the past seven months, the girls have been taking lessons from PHS Junior, Alicia Dennie.  This was the first year of competing for most of the girls.  All of the girls are members of Daphne’s Dolls and will be twirling in parades, with the group, this summer.

Results from the day included Alicia Dennie as the 2016 Overall Advanced Dance Twirl Champion.

Brooke Singleton, a seventh grader from Laville Jr/Sr High School won five of her basic events and won Novice Strut while Hannah Deadmon, a seventh grader from Bremen Jr/Sr High School won two of her basic events and won her Beginner Solo and Intermediate Solo.  Singleton and Deadmon together won both Novice and Beginner Jr. Pairs.

Meagan Crum, a fifth grader at Riverside in Plymouth, won two of her basic events and won her Novice Solo and Karli Crum, a third grader at Washington Discovery Academy in Plymouth, won two of her basic events while Mikayla Knepper, a freshman at Plymouth High School, won her Beginner Presentation.

Brooke Kitch, a first grader at Triton Elementary, placed second in her age group for basic and third in her solo.
