Argos School Superintendent Riise, MichelleMichele Riise, Superintendent of the Argos Community Schools made the following state after the referendum failed in the May Primary.  “We are very disappointed with the referendum not passing, but am hopeful that a plan can be created in the near future that will address the current state of Argos Community Schools.”

The school board and superintendent will be meeting next week in executive session to begin to formalize a plan.

Riise said, “At this current time, this plan may include further reductions in staffing and programs which the proposed referendum was going to address, as well as the future of Argos Schools.”  She continued, “ I am very optimistic that the community, families, school staff, and school board will come together to do what is needed for Argos students!  We have an excellent school system, and we want every student to have the best educational experience that Argos Schools can offer.”

Superintendent Riise closed her comments by saying,  “The students are our top priority in what we do from this point on, as it has been in the past and the decisions we have made recently.”
