Art in the street 2016

The Heartland Artist Gallery and Discover Plymouth will host the 2nd annual Art in the Street event in downtown Plymouth this Saturday from 9 till 3.

Participants will have to opportunity to meet the artists and share in their passions as many will be demonstrating their works. Pike Evans, a Heartland member will have his potters wheel out allowing people the experience of molding clay on the wheel and Sister Nancy from Moontree will be working a spinning wheel.

Artists from all over the area will be demonstrating and selling their works, from watercolors, oils and pastels to upcycling jewelry, wood cutting boards, metals and pottery.

Art comes in many forms and Art in the Street will also show the talents of Mike Litner who will perform from 1 to 2 and the LifePlex Dance Academy will demonstrate various dancing styles and techniques at 2.

Earlier this week Plymouth’s bison was delivered to the Marshall County Museum and various artists from the heartland Artist Gallery will spend the next two months paint the bison as a realistic great white buffalo and painting historic scenes and buildings representing each community in Marshall County. On Saturday stop by the museum window and check out the progress.

Art In The Street will also offer kids the chance to be creative with sidewalk chalk and a coloring table with take home projects. Heartland artists will also have two chalk art scenes, a hot air balloon launch and city skyline that kids can have their photos taken with so bring your cameras.

There will also be a food booth and water, pop and cookies for sale.

Enjoy Saturday in downtown Plymouth with the Farmers’ Market from 7:30 to 11:30, the Yellow River Festival from 10 till 6 and Art In The Street from 9 till 3.
