IMG_2837 (497x371)NILES, MI – Niles High School senior Tegan Bays recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play softball for Ancilla College.

 

Bays enters her fourth year on varsity for the Vikings. The middle infielder was a .378 hitter as a junior earning SMAC First Team All-Conference and All-District honors at the end of the season. She was also named to the Academic All-State team in 2013 & 2014. She is also a member of the Waverunners travel softball club.

 

Niles High School coach Rick McKeel was very complimentary of Bays. “Tegan’s success is a direct result of her hard work and determination. We’re very proud of her.”

 

When asked about the two-year school in Donaldson, Bays commented, “I love the size of Ancilla and I am really excited to continue my softball career there. I really like the Nursing program, as well.”

 

“Tegan has been on my radar for at least three years now,” began Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “She is solid in every aspect of the game and is a great young lady off the field, as well. I am very excited that Tegan chosen to become part of the Ancilla softball family.”

 

Tegan is the daughter of Robert Bays and Brandy Hall. While at Ancilla she will be pursuing her degree in Nursing.
