Bison-tennialBison are coming to Marshall County.  As part of the State’s Bison-tennial project, a 100 pound fiberglass bison will stand proudly in front of the Marshall County Museum after receiving approval from the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety.

Linda Rippy from the County Museum told members of the board, the state is hoping to have a bison in every county along the torch trail this fall.

Shelley Heiden told members they have a number of sponsors to cover the $2,400 cost.  She also told members the animal is about 3 and ½ feet wide and 8 feet long.  It’s anticipated the statue will be ready and on the sidewalk late spring or early summer.

The fiberglass statue will be painted by the Heartland Artists with pictures that represent Marshall County and will sit on the sidewalk out front of the museum during the typical nice weather months and then be moved inside during the winter months.

The Town of Bremen will also have a bicentennial bison.
