A new event is planned for the 50th annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival.   A local swim club is sponsoring a fund-raising open water swim event at Myers Lake called Blueberry Splash. Proceeds from the event will benefit the build a pool fund with the Marshall County Community Foundation.

The one mile Open Water swim address is 14811 12th Road which is actually the ending point in the swim. Swimmers will be escorted via watercraft to the beginning point which will provide an opportunity to view the course prior the race. Parking is available at the 12th Road address. If swimmers prefer they may be dropped off at the beginning location, 12086 Peach Road however parking is not available at that location.

Cost for the Open Water Swim fundraiser is $25 July 1st through August 1st, $35 August 2nd through August 15th and $40 the day of registration. Swimmers must be 11 years of age or older to be eligible for this event.

Check in is 8:15 to 9:15 with warm ups from 8:45 until 9:30 and the pre-race safety briefing at 9:45. The race begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m.

Drinks and snacks will be provided to swimmers after the race.
