Members of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety put their support behind another Eagle Scout Project in River Park Square during Monday’s meeting.
Grant Houin plans to landscape the flagpole his brother, Luke put up for his Eagle Scout project in August of 2015. Grant plans to put bricks, bushes and flowers around the base of the flagpole. The bricks will be engraved with the 12 Points of the Scout law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. A combination of red and black bricks will be used in the landscape project.
Houin says he plans to complete the project before year end if not, then right after the first of the year.
He also asked if the city could assist in paying for the bricks for the project. Mayor Senter said the city would be able to donate to the project. The bricks are expected to cost about $300.
While the Board of Works put their support behind the project, the Park Board has final approval. Grant will appear before the Park Board at their November 7th meeting.
