Harmony PressFollowing a public hearing last night, the Bourbon Town Council approved a ten year personal and real property tax abatement for Harmony Press, taking action in support for local business expansion and economic growth. This abatement was supported by the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC). The Council conducted a public hearing confirming action taken on January 22nd when the Council designated the location as an economic revitalization area.

This tax abatement supports Harmony’s plans to invest approximately $1.5 million in the purchase and setup of new machinery, and another $250,000 in expanding its downtown facility. This capital investment will increase the company’s efficiency and profits, retain local workers, and strengthen the local economy.

Harmony is a third generation, family owned and operated business which located to Bourbon in 1968. The company is a major employer in the community with more than 60 full-time employees with salaries in excess of $3.4 million. Over the years, Harmony has expanded its operations through capital investments in excess of $3 million in machinery and equipment as well as over $600,000 in facilities

Bourbon Town Council President, Les McFarlin stated, “Harmony is a valuable corporation that gives so much to the town, both as a major employer of our residents and as a substantial funder in projects like the town’s recent Habitat for Humanity project. We are pleased to be able to give back to them by supporting their expansion.”
