PlymouthSpeedwayLogoIt’s the beginning of many things at Plymouth Speedway with the Cabin Fever event this weekend.  Not only is it the first race of the season Saturday, April 23, it is the debut of the new state-of-the-art facility that many drivers and fans call home.

During the off-season, crews have been constructing new seating to enhance the dirt track experience at the biggest entertainment attraction in Northern Indiana known as the Playground of Power.  The construction will be ongoing as the season progresses.  The Plymouth Speedway crew members also built up the banking on the two racing tracks that will create more a competitive surface for the five classes of race cars.

Drivers in the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds, Winged Pro Sprints, WTCA Super Streets, Thunder Stocks and Dickies Restaurant Non-Wing 600 Sprints will be racing for the coveted championship.  Plymouth Speedway Owner Ed Kennedy notes that the champions will receive a championship ring and a chance to go on a relaxing cruise.

Get the season started off right by attending the opening race on Saturday. The grandstand and pit gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6 p.m. and features at 7 p.m. ET.  Tickets are $12, children ages 6-12 are $5 and children ages 5 and under are free.  Pit passes are $25.  For more on the season’s schedule, visit www.plymouthspeedway.net.
