Nearly 60 family members, friends, and community members participated in a candle light vigil remembering Serenity Wilson, the 2-year-old who was beaten to death one year ago.

SerenityWilson_Candle2016_2The little girl was beaten by her mother’s boyfriend, Shane Weedling for wetting the bed and just last week Weedling pled guilty to the murder of the two year old.

The gathering was at the Oak Hill Cemetery where the child is buried.

SerenityWilson_Candle2016_3The message delivered by Al Ganser, pastor from the Biker Church of the Heartland was that “justice will be done” and that “there’s hope for the future for everybody.”

Serenity Wilson’s family hosted the service not only to remember their little girl but to share the message of finding an end to child abuse.

SerenityWilson_Candle2016_4Weedling is scheduled to be sentenced on October 6th in Marshall Superior Court I.  The same day Serenity Wilson would have turned 4.
