DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla Charger basketball team continued their winning run at home, defeating Jackson College on Monday night in a close game that ended 76-70, making this the sixth straight win for the Chargers and making their record 16-4 overall and 6-1 in the MCCAA (Michigan Community College Athletic Association) conference.

Ancilla led the Jets by three going into halftime. When they returned, the back and forth action continued as the team fought to maintain the lead, ultimately leading to a six point victory. Andrew Jones led the scoring for the Chargers with 16 points. Alex Henn (12), Tre’Shon Heard (11) and Everett Norman (1) put up a combined 33 points. Travon Brackett pulled down seven rebounds and Anderson McCoy had six assists.

“It was another close game and our guys gutted out another win. Jackson was very well prepared and played a good game. We had a chance to put them away with six minutes left and an 11 point lead, and unfortunately let them back in it. Luckily for us, we hit some big shots and got a few big stops down the stretch. We look forward to going to Lansing tomorrow for a chance to take over first place in the league,” said Coach Aaron Butcher.

Ancilla will be on the road in Lansing on Wednesday as they battle it out against #1 ranked Lansing Community College. Game time is 7:30p.m. The Chargers will return home on Saturday, January 30th to play Lake Michigan College. Tip-off is 3:00p.m.
