Since the devastating fires in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Church of the Heartland has been praying about what they could do to help. They talked to a pastor Thursday who lives in Tennessee and he said they have lots of kids who have lost everything and the Toys For Tots program there lost all their toys in the fire too.
Church of the Heartland will be collecting new toys until December 18 and then delivering them to Gatlinburg December 19. They have drop off locations in Plymouth, Bourbon, Rochester, Winamac, and Knox.
Pastor Chris Miller said, “The destruction there is so heartbreaking and the needs are so big but we really believe this is a small part that we can do. These kids have lost everything right before Christmas….what an awesome way to bless them and bring a little hope.”
Donations will be collected at the following locations during regular business hours until December 16:
Plymouth – Uptown Retro Girl and The Trading Post
Bourbon – Bourbon Public Library
Rochester – Rochester Ford
Winamac – Fred Allen Auto Center
Knox – Church of the Heartland and Foundations Child Care.
Donations can also be dropped off at any Church of the Heartland Campus until December 18.
