Quotes were opened for a concrete floor installation projects at the Wastewater Treatment Facility and for the demolition of two residential structures during Monday night’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

 

City Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson told board members he solicited quotes from three companies to install a concrete floor in an existing block building that he plans to place a bio-filter in. The only quote he received was from Papcznski Construction from Lakeville in the amount of $19,975.

 

805 Harrison_1Quotes were also open for the demolition of two home on Harrison Street. 805 and 809 West Harrison Street have experienced flooding issues during recent storms and earlier this year the city purchased the lots with the homes on them for $28,000 and $49,000 using storm-water depreciation funds.

The city sought quotes from four contractors and received two quotes back. Jackson Services of Rochester gave a quote of $13,000 to remove the two residential structures along with the foundations and a concrete slab while Lenker Services of Plymouth offered a quote of $14,440.

Bids for both projects were taken under-advisement.

The Board of Works also ratified the award of a quote to do a re-roof project at the Wastewater Department. Millwood Roofing and Construction from Milford was awarded the project for $8,417.
