Plymouth Police are investigating an accidental shooting early Sunday morning.

City police were dispatched to the 100 block of South Center Street shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday for a 14 year old boy was shot in the stomach.

Officer Bridget Hite’s investigation found that the resident answered the door with a gun in his hand. The adult male told Officer Hite the gun accidentally discharged as he was at the door and the bullet struck the teen in the stomach.

The juvenile was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment.

This case remains under investigation and at this time no charges have been filed.
