Kevin OvermyerLast week the Association of Indiana Counties invited Marshall County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer to participate in an internal committee to discuss and form policy positions on road funding and its administration.

 

Ryan Hoff,Director of Government Relations and General Counsel said, “This committee will help provide policy guidance and support to the Association of Indiana Counties representative on the FIRSST (Funding Indiana’s Roads for a Stronger, Safer Tomorrow) Task Force that was created by HEA 1001 during this legislative session. The FIRSST Task Force is comprised of 16 members from the General Assembly, Pence Administration, local government and industry. It is charged with developing a long term plan for state and local infrastructure funding.”

 

The committee Overmyer will serve on will also help guide AIC’s recommendations to INDOT during their implementation of the Local Road and Bridge Matching Account grant program.

 

The first meeting will come sometime in April, as the FIRSST Task Force will likely begin meeting shortly after the May primary election season.
