This week the Marshall County Commissioners approved the 2016 contract for legal representation and made several appointments.
Jim Clevenger will again serve as the county attorney. The contract approved is identical to the 2015 agreement. There is a $1,250 monthly retainer which covers monthly meetings, conversations with the commissioners and preparation for meetings. An hourly rate of $140 is charged when dealing with other county offices. It was noted that special litigation such as condemnation, bond issues and such are billed at the private hourly rate.
The County Commissioners appointed Betty Engle as their representative to the Alcohol Beverage Commission. Other appointments were Commissioner Kurt Garner to a 2 year term on the County Personnel Committee and to the Unsafe Building Committee, Commissioner Kevin Overmyer to the County Safety Committee, and Deb Griewank to the County Plan Commission.
In other business the commissioners approved and annual agreement with Microvote at $12,000.
