HalvorsenAn unimproved portion of Pretty Lake Road and it’s right-of-way was vacated at this week’s commissioner meeting.

William Halvorsen owns 11 adjacent lots in the Blier’s Lakefront Subdivision and would like to replat the property into three parcels, one with the existing home, the second one where Halvorsen will build a new home and the third lot as a potential building site for his children.

The end of January the County Plan Commission reviewed the application and sent a favorable recommendation to the commissioners.

Plan Director, Ralph Booker said showed the 10 lots, the 30 foot unimproved road and a triangle shaped lot that fronts on Pretty Lake Road.  In the late 50’s the commissioners vacated another portion of the unimproved road but not this section.

During the public hearing, Mr. Halvorsen gave a history of the property starting in 1925 when his family purchased the first 4 lots.  In 1942 two more lots were purchased and in 58 the remaining 5 lots were purchased.  Halvorsen said his proposal is an estate plan.

No neighbors commented during the public hearing.

The Commissioners approved the request to vacate the unimproved portion of Pretty Lake Road on all three readings Monday.
