Road_ConstructionMonday the Marshall County Commissioners were updated on the various road projects being completed in the county with the Community Crossings grant.

County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters said Plymouth Goshen Trail from US 6 north to the county line is complete along with 7th Road from the new US 31 to King Road.  The old US 31, 4 lane from the southern LaPaz town limits to the bridge removal project has been repaved.  Some road markings and berm work is yet to be completed.   Peters said the Fir Road project will be completed this week.

The final Community Crossing grant money is for Elm Road, Muckshaw Road and Union Road.  Peters said Walsh and Kelly is expected to start on these projects next week.

DLZ also reported to the commissioners that the Hickory Road bridge replacement project is progressing.  Four of the five parcels needed for the project have been secured.  Acquisition for the wet land mitigation portion of the project is still being worked on.

This bridge replacement project won’t be bid till December 2017 with replacement in 2018.
