Marshall County Building Inspector, Chuck DeWitt presented the commissioners with the 2015 statistics during their meeting on Monday.
The report compares 2013, 14 and 15.
In 2013 a total of 440 building permits were issued while the next year it was 520 and last year, 2015 it was 523. Those permits were valued on $13.4 million in 2013, $37.3 million in 14 but that included the $8 million Universal Bearings Project in Bremen and the $5 million Landfill Energy project. Last year the permits were valued at $30.2 million.
Income from the permits issued was $61,180 in 2013, $76,748 in 14 and $78,610 last year.
DeWitt is excited to see the number of registered contractors continue to increase. In 2013 there were 336 registered contractors while 2014 saw 375 and last year there were 403. Income from the contractor registration fee was $16,800 in 2013, $18,650 in 14 and $20,150 last year.
