It was a quick meeting for the Marshall County Council Monday/ Sheriff, Matt Hassel was granted approval to begin the hiring process for a Court Security Officer. A retirement that will be effective on May 31st is the reason for the personnel replacement.
County Clerk Deb VanDeMark also has a retirement in her office. An 18 year employee will retire effective June 1st. She too was granted approval to begin the hiring process.
Wes Burden, Head of the County Health Department will replace a 2001 Ford Taurus. Burden said, “Although it has less than 100,000 miles on it, there’s lots of rust underneath.”
The Commissioners gave approval to apply for a Local Health Maintenance Grant from the state to fund the lease of a new vehicle.
