County Building_2The Marshall County Council has a big agenda for their first meeting of 2016.   The meeting kicks off with the reorganization and appointments to various boards including MACOG, Fair Board, EMA Board, Unsafe Building Committee and Personnel Committee as well as a review of the liaison assignments.

The next item of business is a discussion of creating a 5-year financial plan for the county.  Todd Samuelson will discuss the plan and cost to create the plan since it wasn’t in the 2016 budget.

Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman will seek approval for a personnel replacement as will Wes Burden from the Health Department and Mary Jan Walsworth from the Probation Department.

Also on the agenda for Council consideration is the discussion with Treasurer Penny Lukenbill for outsourcing tax bill preparations and consideration of a part time field officer for the Community Corrections Grant fund by Ward Byers.    Deb VanDeMark, County Clerk will discuss moving Marshall County from precincts to vote centers and ask for their support as required by state statue.

Marshall County Auditor Julie Fox will present additional appropriation requests and transfers requests for the 2015 and 2016 budgets and she will present a salary amendment for 2016.

The County Council meeting is open to the public although comments and questions are limited to the first order of business.  The meetings is a 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.
