County News_logoEarlier this month the Marshall County Board of Finance conducted their annual meeting.  Board Presidents Commissioner Deb Griewank presided over the meeting that also included commissioners Kurt Garner and Kevin Overmyer along with County Treasurer Penny Lukenbill.

The board approved the outstanding warrants which are checks that have been issued over the previous two years and never cashed.

During the review of the interest summary Lukenbill noted that the county earned $326,225 on their cash management funds. That is almost $100,000 higher than 2014 but nothing like 2007 when the county earned $1,333,855 in interest.

The county has no Certificates of Deposits.  Lukenbill said, “Basically because we haven’t been receiving responses to our requests to bid for them.”
