Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched Tuesday evening, May 31st to the area of 13th Road and Olive Trail after receiving a call of a pig loose in the roadway.
The first check of the area officers were unable to locate the pig. During a check after a second call officers located the pig and were trying to secure the animal when the pig charged at the officer.
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel said, “The officer had to put the pig down with his firearm.”
The sheriff said, “There has been a question as to rather the officer needed to take the action that he did and we are checking into it.”
