Sheriff's Star BadgeMarshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel released the December Activity Report for the jail.

The top 10 offenses for being booked into the jail were; #10 – Court Ordered Hearings, #9 – Dealing in Cocaine or Meth, #8 – Battery, #7 – Operator Never Licensed, #6 – Probation Violation.  The top 5 are; #5 –  Theft, #4 – Driving While Suspended, #3 – Failure to Appear, #2- Marijuana and the number one reason – Operating While Intoxicated.

There were a total of 158 people booked into the County Jail in December and the average daily jail population was 113.

County officers took 81 case reports last month, 240 citations were written, 52 property damage accidents were investigated and 11 personal injury accidents.
