Discover Plymouth, a newly formed organization consisting of business owners, civic leaders, and passionate citizens is hosting their official launch event Saturday, May 14th in downtown Plymouth. The event will draw people downtown and give them the ability to hear the plans for the downtown area while supporting local businesses and enjoying an evening of entertainment. During the dine-around portion of the event, guests will enjoy an appetizer at one downtown restaurant, an entrée at another, and dessert at a third location. Following the dine-around, guests will enjoy live music from top-rated Nashville band Bruns in the amphitheater in River Park Square.
“I can’t say enough how excited I am about the future of our downtown,” said Discover Plymouth board president Josh Walker. “The work our volunteer board is putting into improving our downtown is impressive. This launch event is our way of introducing Discover Plymouth to the public and having a blast while doing so. Our city is going to benefit greatly from people coming together for the common cause of revitalizing our downtown. We believe our downtown is a special place, and we want to show the surrounding areas that.”
Discover Plymouth has been hosting regular board meetings, laying the groundwork for an actionable plan to create new energy around the downtown area. The organization committees are seeking volunteers to serve on the Design, Promotion, Organization, and Economic Restructuring committees. The organization will produce events, help promote other organizations and events taking place, and carry out projects to improve and beautify the downtown area.
“We want to use this event to officially launch discover Plymouth and showcase everything that we already have downtown,” said Discover Plymouth board vice president Kyle Davis. “Our desire is to show our community what’s possible and how, thanks to the efforts by people and organizations before us, we can build on our existing downtown moving forward.”
