The Bremen Police Department is evacuating a four block radius from Woodie’s Supermarket at the corner of Plymouth and Bowen Streets for a major gas leak.
A contractor working for INDOT contractor hit a gas line causing the leak.
Bremen Police are evacuating 4 blocks in all directions from Woodie’s, extending north to Dewey Street, south to Grant Street, west to Liberty Street and east to Marshall Street.
At 3:55 Bremen said the evacuation will be for a period of about 3 hours.
Residents are strongly encouraged to evacuate immediately.
A Shelter has been set up at the Bremen Town Hall on South Center Street.
