Marshall County Councilman in District 2, Bill Githens from Culver filed on Monday to challenge incumbent commissioner Kevin Overmyer in the May Republican primary.
In a press release handed out at the County Council meeting Monday morning Githens stated, “I believe that we need new leadership on the Board of Commissions.” He concluded his statement by saying, “I want to commend my fellow County Council members for their outstanding service, dedicated to the best interests of the citizens of Marshall County, and look forward to working with each and every one of them the remainder of the year.”
Githens, from Culver is beginning his second year on the County Council. His term expires December 31, 2018.
