Fairgoers who want to do good while they’re enjoying the Indiana State Fair are just a selfie away from feeding hungry Hoosiers.

“Last year, hundreds of people posted farmer selfies from the fair using our hashtag,” said Megan Kuhn, a spokeswoman for Indiana’s Family of Farmers. “We hope to see even more this year. It only takes a minute and every post makes a difference for Feeding Indiana’s Hungry.”

To take part in the #FarmerSelfie promotion, fairgoers should take a picture with a farmer or one of the life-size posters of farmers on the fairgrounds, and then post the picture to Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram. The post must tag @FamilyofFarmers and use the hashtag #FarmerSelfie.

Life-size posters of farmers are located near the commodity tents, in livestock barns, in the Farm Bureau Building and in the Glass Barn.

IFOF_SelfieFor every #FarmerSelfie picture posted, Indiana’s Family of Farmers will make a donation to Feeding Indiana’s Hungry, the state’s association of food banks. As an incentive, fairgoers who share photos will be entered into a daily drawing for a $50 gift card from Kroger.

The Indiana State Fair runs from August 5 to August 21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
